"Research WITH" as potency of social learning:
an experience in environmental sciences with a rural school
Abstract
The objective of this article is to present an intervention research carried out in the field of environmental sciences in a rural school and to analyze the possibility of this “research WITH” as a potency of social learning. The school is located in the Território Portal da Amazônia (north of Mato Grosso state) and the intervention aimed at defining, validating, applying and analyzing established indicators to understand the role of school practices in the socio-ecological resilience of rural communities, as well as a joint analysis of the results and participatory process. Dialogued and dynamic meetings were held with the school community to achieve the intended objectives. In addition to the results of the indicators themselves, an analysis of the process itself showed that this was a social learning exercise that enabled the development of different skills and values.
