ANTHROPOCENE AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
STUDENTS' PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN BEINGS AND NATURE
Abstract
Environmental Education has been considered as a political act capable of mobilizing processes of recognition and change in the world we dwell. It is an open question how these processes take place with high school students from a public school from Bahia (Brazil). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the perceptions of these students regarding the effects of their daily habits on the environment and what changes they propose. For this, an interview was applied to 76 students. In their perceptions stood out the expressions: Planet... Future...... Produce... Consumerism... Water... Quality... Industrialized... Food... Protect.... From them it is possible to think of educational strategies to help students understand environmental problems and formulate solutions for maintaining survival conditions on the planet.
