This article relates three fields of knowledge in education: educational policy, continuing education and field education. The objective is the analysis of the continuing education actions of the Field Education Division of the Municipal Department of Education of Santana-AP. It consists of a research of predominantly qualitative approach, which used documentary and bibliographic research, followed by field research, having as instrumental support the application of interviews. The research subjects were three education professionals working in this Division. It is understood
that the education of the field presents particularities inherent to its reality and needs to be considered within educational policies, including with regard to continuing education. It points out the need for a constant formation of teachers and teachers of basic education in the face of the challenges of the profession, incorporating knowledge for effective sociocultural development of the schools of the field. Among other notes, it is concluded that the performance of social movements together with the application of academic studies are fundamental elements to achieve political-educational achievements in the field education.
