Redes sociais, identidade póstuma e o drama da morte

Abstract

This article refers to a study that aims to reveal the elements that guide the construction of identity in a posthumous digital profile on social networks such as Instagram and Facebook. As a methodology, the profile of Reginaldo Rossi, a Brazilian artist who died in 2013, was analyzed. For this article, only the characteristics of the profiles, in the respective networks, that were most appropriate as articulating instruments of the discussion on the construction of identity were considered. It was concluded that the use of social interaction tools to maintain mourning or memorialization requires caution, in order to protect the legacy and identity of the artist when there is intent, in some way, to reincorporate him into the world of the living.
