Application of Lean Office Concepts in the Optimization of the Purchasing Sector of the Hospital e Pronto Socorro da Criança Zona Sul
Abstract
Lean Office is a tool used to generate lean flows in administrative processes and, consequently, make them more efficient. This work aims to enable the application of Lean office concepts to the procurement sector of the Hospital e Pronto Socorro da Criança Zona Sul, an agency linked to the structure of the Health Department of the State of Amazonas, located in the city of Manaus. The research was developed with the mapping of the processes of emergency purchases, carried out in the purchasing sector of this hospital. Then, the Value Stream Map of the Current State was prepared, in which the problems that increased the lead time were identified and it was found that the main causes came from two stages. Subsequently, improvements were proposed for the critical stages and, for this, the Future State Value Stream Map was prepared. The results showed that it is possible to optimize the process flow and reduce lead time using Lean Office concepts.
