Abstract

This article presents some reflections about the attributions of the teacher of Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) in Elementary Education in the city of Uberlândia and how this has been portrayed in current documents and current legislation. This study is justified by the need to know theoretically the studied theme and also allow such conceptions to contribute effectively to those who are considered the main players in the school space: educators and students. In this sense, the methodology used is based on a bibliographic research in the area and later on the connection of this with some aspects related to Elementary Education. Children with special needs have the right to education in our society, and are legally protected by Law 9394/96, ECA and other official documents, which delegate the family, the school and society the commitment to make a school for all. In view of this situation, it must be clear that the work of the ESA must be guided by pedagogical practices that clearly favor the learning of students with disabilities, especially in elementary education, as they are inserted in Basic Education where they still need care. more redoubled for both the family and the school.
