A literatura hermética: um percurso historiográfico

Este artigo analisa o percurso da Literatura Hermética na academia moderna, especialmente durante o século XX e o primeiro quartel do século XXI, destacando sua relevância como testemunho das interações culturais no Mediterrâneo antigo e sua importância para a história das religiões na Antiguidade. O estudo explora os principais debates sobre a origem desses textos, inicialmente centrados na interpretação grega, em resultado de estudos helenistas como os realizados por André-Jean Festugière. No entanto, abordagens reativas, como as de Philippe Derchain e Jean-Pierre Mahé, destacaram a importância das raízes egípcias desses documentos, especialmente após a descoberta dos códices de Nag Hammadi. A perspectiva multicultural de Garth Fowden e as recentes ideias de Christian Bull, que defendem a origem egípcia dos textos, moldam as discussões contemporâneas sobre o tema.
