CRIANÇAS MIGRANTES E REFUGIADAS DA VENEZUELA:

UM OLHAR SOBRE O USO DO TERRITÓRIO NO CENTRO DE ACOLHIDA CASA BOM SAMARITANO EM BRASÍLIA-DF

Abstract

Contemporary population dynamics in Brazil reveal that the country has become one of the main routes of the Venezuelan diaspora. With a significant number of displaced people, most of the group is made up of women and children. These writings invite us to reflect on the operationalization of the category used territory as a possibility of understanding the processes of use of the territory, carried out by migrant and refugee children from Venezuela, in the shelter center Casa Bom Samaritano in Brasília-DF. Furthermore, we seek to analyze how they form, in this territory, places of resistance, integration, adaptation and learning, promoting the construction of a sense of belonging. The use of the used territory category, initiated by Milton Santos in the 1990s, constitutes an important possibility for reflecting on geographic space in the context of the postmodern world and globalization. For the development of this qualitative research, in addition to the bibliographical review with the theme of international migration and geographic concepts, secondary data provided by Casa Bom Samaritano were collected, field visits were carried out and ethnographic research was carried out with children welcomed at the Casa. The territory used by the children of Casa Bom Samaritano plays an important role in inclusion, integration, preparation for insertion into Brazilian society and reinforcement of solidarity.
