Abstract

Considering the impacts of anthropic action on the environment, the need for environmental planning is imminent. Brazil is historically marked by an exploratory economy of natural resources, responsible for the deforestation and fragmentation of our forests. Currently, with the mapping of vegetation and recognition of the scope of forests, it is possible to better understand the dynamics, evolution, characteristics of an area and thus propose strategies that can help in its preservation more effectively, or even propose legislation that can cover this vegetation broadly. This work aims to present, through a bibliographic survey, Landscape Ecology as an alternative for the study of forest fragmentation, including its historical construction trajectory and metrics used in the analysis of landscapes.
