Neoconservadorismo e Crise Social
o impacto de ideologias nefastas de extrema direita na Assistência Social brasileira após 2016
Abstract
This analysis is an integral part of a doctoral research conducted between 2017 and 2023, dedicated to examining the neoconservative offensive that took hold in Brazil after the political events of 2016. This new ideological dynamic, which took shape in subsequent governments, imposed significant changes, especially regarding the policies and principles of Social Assistance. The confirmation of this offensive had its crucial moment in 2016, which, although masked by legality, acted as a political conspiracy aimed at reconfiguring the country's social landscape. We argue that neoconservatism serves as a fundamental analytical tool for uncovering the political and social articulations of the contemporary era. This perspective is vital because it not only highlights the continuity of adverse social conditions but also solidifies what we call the Antisocial State, whose consequences fall disproportionately on the Black Brazilian population.
