Abstract
The present study aims to understand and reflect on the use of Japanese media, such as anime and manga, in the work of school psychologists as a mediating materiality. The research was carried out in a state school located in the city of Campinas, using a research-intervention approach. The results highlighted the prejudices present in the school context and the possibility of using these media as mediating materialities to access emotions and stimulate imagination. It was observed an identification and elaboration of feelings and emotions triggering a process of reflection, decision making, and change. The school psychologist, seeking to encourage reflection in an accessible and receptive school context, can use these media to understand the interests, frustrations, and fears of these
