Effects of sense of fear in nursing work in view of the risk of death by covid-19
Abstract
In capitalism, work acquires different meanings, and its main objectives are aimed at obtaining profit and accumulating wealth, through the exploitation of the workforce. During the covid-19 pandemic, we observed an aggravation and greater notoriety of the precariousness of work in nursing, for acting on the front line of the fight against the new coronavirus, exposed not only to the risk of illness, but also to the constant fear of dying and/or of the death of loved ones. The objective of this research was to study the effects of the sense of fear in nursing work in view of the risk of death by covid-19. This is a field research, with a qualitative approach, with an analysis clipping extracted from focus groups and analyzed from a discursive perspective. The analysis showed that the fear of death produced meaning effects not only in the nursing work process, but also in the social relationships with other components of the coexistence of these workers.
