Traditional riverside communities of the Amazon and the creation of conservation units.
A reflection from the perspective of the civilizing process.

This article seeks to highlight the process of civilization through which the traditional
riverside communities of the Amazon passed with the creation of Conservation Units. Its
importance for the preservation of the environment and the relationship of communities
with the private and governmental institutions that are part of this scenario. Throughout
this article will be discussed about the motivation for the creation of conservation units in
Brazil and Amazonas, how they are divided, who are responsible for their governance and
their functions. As well as the insertion of new technologies in the daily life of
communities, their benefits and harms and how they deal with these changes. The research
was bibliographical, with a qualitative approach, supported by the field experiences.
