Cultural polyphony and radical thought

Abstract

The anthropocentric views of the world which determine the Occidental scientific thinking are put in question in this article. As a counterpoint to the totalitarianism of science, other views of the world which are more integrated and harmonious emerge from insights which propose a new humanism capable of articulating differences and asymmetries. The criticism of the cultural polyphony of civilization presupposes other co-ordinates of intelligence between the parts and the whole, as well as the acquisition of a scientific attitude capable of integrating reason and the creation of a new “harmonious universality”
