This essay about the image of Manaus city in A Jangada, by the ficcionist Jules Verne, want identify the sources that inspired the historic narratives and formal aspects described by the author, so the illustrations that made the book. More popular than the travels literacy, Verne’s fiction became sponsored by the circulation and fixation the image of Manaus, worldly, in the second moiety of 19’s century.
