Abstract

This article investigated the perception of the residents of Lago do Aleixo in the environmental context, precisely on the impacts caused by the floating of the place. This is qualitative-quantitative research, whose approach is justified by the changes in the biotic life directly allocated in this ecological space. Having as theoretical contribution the environmental legislation, the methodological process for the construction of the study took place with the bibliographical analysis of the authors and works that registered the symbolism, the tradition and the social relations in this environment. The objectives in question, in addition to describing the perception of residents in relation to the impacts produced by the floating, aim to identify possible changes to water resources. In order to prevent irreversible damage, the study recommends environmental education work with the community, serving as a basis for new research and public policies.
