Research Areas

The Sustainabilidade International Scientific Journal welcomes contributions in several areas of environmental and related sciences, including, but not limited to, ecology, conservation biology, environmental management, public policies for sustainability, and green technologies.

The Sustentabilidade International Scientific Journal is a continuous flow periodical organized by the Unidade de Pesquisa em Energia Clima e Desenvolvimento Sustentável (UPEC) of the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), dedicated to the dissemination of innovative research that addresses the urgency of new sustainable modes of production. In a world where extreme weather events are increasingly frequent, suggesting significant climate change, this journal serves as an essential forum for scientific discussion on sustainability. It publishes articles in Portuguese, Spanish, English and native languages, as long as they are offered, promoting a comprehensive dialogue on the challenges and solutions for sustainability in the Amazon. In addition to its physical and electronic publication, the journal supports the efforts of the UN and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to promote a future of social well-being and prosperity.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate access to all its content, following the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global knowledge exchange. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license.

Focus and Scope

The focus of the Sustainability International Scientific Journal is to promote the study and implementation of sustainable practices, with special attention to the challenges faced in the Amazon. The scope includes original research, systematic reviews, case studies and opinion pieces that explore how sustainability can be achieved at multiple levels, from local to global.

History of the Magazine

Founded in 2019, Sustainability International Scientific Journal was created to address the emerging need for academic discussion focused on sustainable practices, especially in the Amazon region. Since then, it has become a leading journal in its field, contributing significantly to the advancement of environmental science.
