O fenômeno totalitário em distopias: uma análise da obra Jogos Vorazes, de Suzanne Collins
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the construction of the imaginary and representations of Totalitarianism in works of dystopian fiction, based on a qualitative analysis methodology of the Hunger Games trilogy of books, by author Suzanne Collins. It is prepared in light of the concept of representation, written by Roger Chartier, understanding literature as a concrete tool for historical research and analysis of reality. In this way, 20th century Totalitarianism is investigated based on the representations of its political imaginary in Collins' literary work, based on definitions by Hannah Arendt, Michel Foucault and other related authors. So, it analyzes how such representations are constructed in dystopian literature using a case study of The Hunger Games. Therefore, the article aims to analyze the specific construction of the 20th century totalitarian phenomenon in dystopias, based on a specific system of representation (Chartier, 1990) of the political imaginary of 19th century totalitarian movements.
