REVISITING MILITARY ARCHIVES: RESEARCH POSSIBILITIES, THEORY AND METHOD

Abstract

The text of the article aims to present, in the light of theoretical and methodological issues, research possibilities in military archives. With the deepening of certain concepts that guide the elaboration of a methodology for the management of archival documents, with an emphasis on their identification, handling and conservation. In this sense, we sought to highlight the archives as places of memory, which contribute to the access to information, mainly from the analysis and materialization of these sources in military custody institutions. Therefore, we used a bibliographic review in websites, books, articles in specialized journals, Dissertations and Theses that deal with this theme, in order to verticalize and problematize the analyzes of this study.
