Abstract
INDICATORS OF FOOD BEHAVIOR AND QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
ABSTRACT
After the individual's entry into the university, several changes occur, among them, habits and behaviors are acquired and / or replaced. As a result, eating behavior can undergo some changes, as well as quality of life (with regard to healthy habits), as the pace of university life will require students to have a new routine. The literature points to a large number of university students with some eating behavior harmful to health, which reflects on quality of life. Based on this panorama, the research seeks to understand these nuances of the problem of eating behavior, as well as its influence on the quality of life of university students. Therefore, the method used in this study is quantitative, with a cross-sectional, descriptive and interpretive approach based on psychological assessment resources. The sample consisted of 38 students (33 from the Psychology course and 05 from the Biotechnology course) who responded to the instruments: World Health Organizational Quality of Life (WHOQOL-bref) - developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and which evaluates the quality of life; the Individual Lifestyle Profile (PEVI) - a questionnaire that evaluates people's lifestyle in 5 factors (nutrition, physical activity, preventive behavior, social relationships and stress control) and the The three factor eating questionnaire (TFEQ-R21 ), a questionnaire that addresses behaviors related to eating habits in the following domains: Cognitive Restriction (CR), Emotional Eating (AE) and Uncontrolled Food (AD), these were transcribed and sent to students through social networks in the form of a Questionnaire Google company platform, through Google Forms. The results pointed to a better quality of life among Psychology students, although this group of students perform few physical activities and show a not always healthy diet, reflecting on a lack of food control followed by an emotional diet. In addition, it was realized that they need to improve in the physical domain, which was related to the unhealthy lifestyle, and this profile is found in Biotechnology students as well. From these results, it was realized the need to implement student assistance policies for proposing a healthy life strategy in the academic environment, favoring health and well-being.
