Abstract

Personal finance aims to study the application of financial concepts in the decisions of individuals. Problem: How did the economic crisis affect the personal finances of academics in administration, accounting and economics at the Federal University of Amazonas? Objectives: To analyze the socioeconomic profile of students attending the 7th period of administration, accounting and economics; Describe the difficulties encountered in the market during and after Brazil's economic crisis; Check if there is a search for new alternatives of financial education in times of economic crisis; Identify if the economic crisis develops entrepreneurial behavior in college students. Methodology: The nature of the research is applied; approaches are quantitative; objectives are descriptive; the procedures were survey, case study and data collection; to collect the data, a questionnaire with 21 closed questions was used. Results: socioeconomic profile, academics invest in savings; monthly income is up to one minimum wage; can save between 20% and 50% of income; the financial profile is of the planner type. The difficulties encountered during the economic crisis were increased prerequisites and fewer opportunities. The mode of education sought during the crisis was distance education. Already the entrepreneurial behavior was found that most of the respondents thought to undertake, but did not seek. Conclusion: 55% of management respondents and 46% of economics were not affected. However, 62.5% of accountants say they have been indirectly affected.
