Abstract

This article begins with a theoretical understanding of the relationship between urbanization and development and aims to broaden knowledge about the Amazon region by focusing on the urban issues of green areas in the city of Manaus. It examines the migration from other regions and from inland cities of Amazonas, creating disordered population growth, highlighting the particularities of the factors that influenced migration to Manaus, with emphasis on the governmental process and the lack of urban planning in the city. The intention is to research the city's structure through its occupations and thus understand the differentiated urbanization process in this region, marked by symmetries and asymmetries in the relationships between the territory and the Amazonian space. It emphasizes the right to the city, especially highlighting the indigenous people who came from their villages to live in the city. Furthermore, it seeks alternatives to build a new urbanity, clarifying, through the researched information, that the development of public urban policies in the city of Manaus for the Amazonian people is necessary and urgent.
