This text proposes a dialogue between Foucault's thought on the construction of the figure of the abnormal and decolonial thought. From this perspective, it turns to the relationship between coloniality and the invention of monsters, understanding that the construction of the abnormal is spectated as the figure of the monster and has a relationship with the processes of hierarchization of peoples within modern-coloniality, in the sense presented by Quijano. By assuming the spectral dimension of the monster in the formation of the abnormal, elements are announced that contribute to reflections on the construction of the human and mechanisms of domination and maintenance of coloniality.
