INTERESTS AND WANTS: EVERYDAY LIFE AT THE ARACAJU PRISON HOUSE THROUGH PRISONER AGENCIES
Abstract
Analyze the dynamics of daily life in the Prison House with Work and reflect on the meanings and meanings of the sociability undertaken between the prison population itself (inmates and staff) and the society outside the walls. These are the main objectives of this work. Documents such as the Daily Parts of the CPCT, letters received and sent by the Prison Administrator, requests and requests from incarcerated people recorded in tickets and applications, among others, will serve as sources for revealing prison daily life. Distances and approximations between the routine introduced in the regulations and the routine experienced will gain contours from the exegesis of the sources. The existing sociability networks within the prison walls, as well as the actions that went beyond the physical limits of the prison, will be highlighted and problematized, highlighting the agency of women and men involved in the prison system of Sergipe from the House of Prison with Labor in Aracaju between 1877 and 1915.
