Abstract

Fabriljuta was a factory that operated in the city of Parintins from the 1960 to the early 1980, so it is important to understand why this city would be chosen to receive a jute yarn weaving industry. In this way it is necessary to problematize the context that involves the production of jute in the Amazon region and the arrival of capital that would modify the producing cities causing the reasons for installations of weaving industries in the Lower Amazon region. Finally, the objective is to delimit how the economic and political structure destined for the northern region would be the indicator to situate the reason why Fabriljuta chose the city of Parintins as its headquarters.
