Trabalhadores excluídos e trabalhadores grevistas sob a ótica do Commercio do Amazonas e Correio do Norte (Manaus 1898-1911)
Abstract
This essay investigates how the newspapers "Comércio do Amazonas" and "Correio do Norte" viewed excluded workers and strikers in Manaus from 1898 to 1911. It analyzes the discourse strategies of these newspapers and how they influenced the perception and behavior of other social strata towards these workers. The newspapers had different editorial orientations, helping to understand the social, political, and cultural dynamics during the transition to the Republic in Manaus. The first section focuses on representations of poverty and social values in "Comércio do Amazonas," while the second highlights the role of fishermen and fisherwomen in "Correio do Norte."
