O lugar da racialização: sobre o associativismo marítimo de Manaus, 1905-1919
Abstract
In this paper I bring some notes on the use of the concept of “racialization” in the study of maritime associations that can illuminate other dimensions for the studies of the worlds of work in the Amazon. I seek to demonstrate how the racialization processes tends to reveal other backgrounds in the sociability woven by workers in their associative experiences, in addition to reinforcing other levels of hierarchization not exhausted in more orthodox categorizations, such as “class”. The article is based on a dialogue between the bibliography and the results of my research on maritime associations in Manaus.
