Overview of the books of chivalry field of studies in Brazil (and some proposals for its development)

Abstract

Despite the indications of the expansion of the study of books of chivalry in several countries, it is not known to what extent this is valid for Brazil, since there has still been no attempt to carry out an overview of the production on the subject in our country. In this article, we will try to fill, even if very temporarily, this gap, taking as a cutout the beginning of the 50s to the present day. Based on the information gathered, we will proceed with an interpretation of the state of the art of these studies to, finally, and based on this, make proposals for their better development.
