MEMORY OF PARTURIENTS IN THE 20TH CENTURY

Abstract

This article addresses the memories of women from seventy years of age who lived with the old craft of births performed by midwives. Midwives are characters in history who deserve to have their work and efforts told for supporting many women over the years. Based on this, there is nothing better than knowing their practices from the memories of women assisted and helped by them. Therefore, we seek in this article to carry out an analysis of narratives so that we can understand the techniques and practices developed in the craft of parturition and problematize the oral narratives about this craft that were produced in 2018 in the Salinas and São Bento communities, Piauí.
