Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • RULES FOR THE ELABORATION OF REFERENCES

    References must be prepared single spaced, justified alignment, separated by a paragraph.
    The typographical resource should be bold, used to highlight the "title" element, in its entirety, in all references.
    Citations in the text must follow the ABNT author-date model. If it is a quotation of up to 3 lines, inserted in the body of the text, it must be "between quotation marks"; quotations of more than 3 lines must be highlighted with 4 cm indentation to the left, single spaced, font 10, without quotation marks. Quotations in a foreign language must be translated and the original text indicated in a footnote.

    The references at the end of the text should follow the models below.

    ILLUSTRATIONS
    Whatever the type of illustration, its identification must appear in the upper part, preceded by the word designation (drawing, scheme, flow chart, photograph, graph, chart, map, organization chart, plant, picture, portrait, figure, image, among others), followed by its number of order of occurrence in the text, in Arabic numerals, indent and the respective title, in Times New Roman 12. After the illustration, at the bottom, indicate the source (mandatory element, even if it is produced by the author himself), legend, notes and other information necessary for its understanding (if any), in Times News Roman 10. The illustration should be cited in the text and inserted as close as possible to the passage to which it refers.

    BOARD OR TABLE
    The table is totally closed (used for qualitative data), the tables are open on the sides (used for quantitative data). It should always have a title and source, as in the example of the image.

    APPENDIX OR ANNEX
    The appendix is a document produced by the author of the paper, while the annex was not produced by the author.
