LEVANTAMENTO BIBLIOGRÁFICO DO GÊNERO Piper (PIPERACEAE) PARA USO MEDICINAL

Abstract

Brazil is rich in plant biodiversity, where forests are the birthplace of plant species, and can be of great use for therapeutic purposes, such as species belonging to the genus Piper which, according to studies, can be used in the treatment of venereal diseases, intestinal disorders, genital diseases -urinary, epilepsy, among others. Thus, the present work aimed to make a bibliographic survey of species of the genus Piper for medicinal use. This research was carried out on digital platforms with a focus on national and complete works of this kind. It was found that it has several bioactive principles, which are used to treat some types of diseases such as: respiratory tract disorders, cough, bronchitis, boils, minor burns, etc. And it was also possible to analyze the types of species of the genus Piper that appear most in the literature and for which particular type of medicinal study is used. Therefore, it was possible to verify works that were of interest for the medicinal use of species of the genus Piper.

Atualmente, é professor do Magistério Superior da UFAM atuando na graduação e pós-graduação.
