DIVERSITY OF FUNGUS OF THE MARASMIACEAE FAMILY IN THE SOUTHWESTERN AMAZON
Abstract
Biodiversity results from millions of years of biological evolution, and is the component of the life support system on planet Earth. In this sense, this work aims to contribute to the knowledge about the diversity of fungi belonging to the Marasmiaceae family in a forest fragment in the southwest of the Amazon rainforest. The collection was carried out at the Tenente Pimenta Selva Base located 20 kilometers from the Municipality of Humaitá-AM, at the 1st Company of the 54th Infantry Battalion of Selva. 27 specimens of the Marasmiaceae family were found, belonging to nine species and five genera. All identified species have food, ecological or medicinal importance and are found in humid environments such as litter. However, more taxonomic studies need to be carried out, covering other collection areas, in order to measure the biodiversity of poroid fungi in the state of Amazonas.
