UM ESTUDO BIBLIOGRÁFICO SOBRE PLANTAS MEDICINAIS UTILIZADAS NO TRATAMENTO ONCOLÓGICO
Abstract
Plants have both medicinal and nutritional uses, that is, they have great value in the possible discoveries of therapies, as these are part of the history of human development. Thus, this study aimed to conduct a literature review on the use of medicinal plants in cancer treatment. The work was carried out through descriptive and exploratory research that aims to analyze the material produced in scientific works obtained on the platforms SCIELO, Google academic, PubMed, MEDLINE and LILACS. With the data obtained, a table was generated containing authorship, periodicals, popular name, scientific name, botanical family, part of the plant and method of preparation. To carry out the final selection of works, readings were made on each of the publications with the intention of verifying the relevance of each of the studies to the guiding question. In this way, a total of 15 scientific works were reached. The nature of the research is characterized as basic that is defined to generate knowledge. While the exclusion criteria were articles that did not address the main ideas in the articles. From all material collected, it was analyzed thoroughly and a total of 13 plant species were obtained, distributed in 12 botanical families. The most used part was the leaves. And the form of preparation was decoction. Based on the results of the survey, it can be seen that research has shown a high diversity of plants with potential for cancer treatment.
