Abstract

The first early childhood education in Brazil is characterized by an assistentialist and compensatory model. From Law no. 9,394/1996 (LDB) (BRASIL, 1996), this scenario changed when the first phase of basic education with the objective of full-time development was instituted. In this way, Full-time Education is understood as a concept that aims to develop the multidimensionality of the students involved in the process; in addition, the ampliation of spaces and of teaching/learning times is searched. The present research aims to analyze the publications about Childhood Education in Brazil and the conceptions of full-time education in the pedagogical practices through a state-of-art bibliographic review. After searching the CAPES Periodicals database, delimiting a time frame from 2011 to 2021 and using the inclusion and exclusion criteria, fourteen articles were selected to be analyzed. With this, the roots of Early Childhood Education present in the articles were observed, as well as it is currently being developed in line with full-time Education. Besides that, the absence of productions on these themes in publications in the North region was observed, which awakens new discussions and productions about the subject from research in the area.
