QUEM SÃO ELES? CARACTERÍSTICAS SOCIODEMOGRÁFICAS, DE APRENDIZAGEM E DE RENDIMENTO DOS ESTUDANTES DA UNIVERSIDADE LICUNGO
Abstract
This study describes some personal and contextual variables of the student at the Licungo university and how influence on the adjustment at university context. There were 711 students who participated in the study, 472 (66.4%9 males). During the evaluation phase, the students were aged from moment of 17 to 59, having a medium of 28.5 (SD=7.41). On online sociodemographic questionnaire was applied to explore personal and contextual variables of the university. And descriptive statistics and qui-square tests were used to explore the characteristics of the participants and the association among the individual and university context variables. The results of the study have suggested to a historical of reproves of the students in the past grades, as well as reported low average of access to university. Nevertheless, the majority of the students said to have personal timetable for independent study out of the university lessons and few lesson missing. In relation to associations, the majority of the students over 25 years old had other occupation apart from being students, and didn’t show a tendency of changing the course as their younger colleagues did. The students who had the course as their first option didn’t show a tendency of neither quitting, nor changing the course. At last, the students who were in the preferred course didn’t have the intention of quitting or change the course. The results of this study allowed bring together a set of large information about the students at Licungo University which may help on organization of strategies of intervention.
