Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the sleep habits and their repercussions on physical development and on cognitive development of 22 adolescents from a public school, on the far north of the country.The participants answered a semi-structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed by Microsoft Office Excel. Among the main results, related to physical development, were: tiredness, sleepiness, joint pain, headache, and others. Among the repercussions on cognitive development revealed by the students appear decreased attention, concentration and reasoning, and others. Concluding, it becomes relevant to encourage healthy sleep habits to the welfare of the adolescents.
