Critical Phenomenological Psychology and Intersectionality:
parameters of understanding
Keywords:
Critical phenomenological psychology, intersectionality, paradigm shiftAbstract
This study aims to present the overlap between Critical Phenomenological Psychology and Intersectionality. Critical phenomenological psychology stands out for proposing a genuinely reflective and interpretative perspective, which unfolds in light of the intricate and multifaceted nature of consciousness and human subjectivity. The main premise of intersectionality is the recognition that these categories do not act in isolation, but rather interpenetrate and influence each other in a deeply interconnected way. Thus, through a literature review, we seek to indicate the importance of the relationship between these two perspectives in order to improve psychological clinic and research, enabling the resizing of clinical work and reflecting the breadth of Psychology. Critical phenomenological psychology and intersectionality is not a static field, but rather a living, constantly evolving field that must be willing to adapt and respond to the changes and demands of society and the communities with which it works. It is concluded that together, as an academic community, professionals and members of society, we can change paradigms and create a future in which psychology is truly inclusive, empathetic and capable of promoting positive and lasting changes in our society, contributing to a fairer world , equitable and respectful for all.
