Botany is the branch of biology that studies plants, algae and fungi, in this work we will deal with plants. Evolutionarily, bryophytes and pteridophytes were the first plants to adapt to the terrestrial environment, therefore they were almost unable to invade space due to their size and the low demand for nutrients in the soil. Therefore, this work proposes to analyze the textbook to verify how these contents are worked, since botanical blindness can influence the teaching-learning process. 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade books were analyzed. It is concluded that the observed textbooks are unique sources of learning within schools and, in addition, some are not contextualized, we know their importance within schools, if they are well used, they can be a great ally for teachers.
