Abstract

The focus of this article is to verify the contribution of geography classes, on the teaching of the Place, with the general objective of analyzing the contributions of the teaching of the place for the citizenship formation of the students of the 6 years of the Municipal School Professor Sérgio Augusto Pará Bittencourt, located in the North zone of the Municipality of Manaus-AM. Using the methodology of qualitative research, we sought to present these results. A description of the setting for the definition of the concept of place in the discipline of Geography, and portraits of the theorists' views related to the theme worked on by teachers at school. Providing subsidies for a better understanding within the field of geographic studies, when the world is seen through the observation of students, can contribute to a better understanding of geographic science. The perception of your place as a component of an environment may be able to generate a more solid understanding of yourself. Presenting tables with the analytical results about the place, it will bring the analysis of the responses of students, teachers, pedagogues. Describe how the objectives were achieved, the importance of this research and the final considerations. Seeking to present how the research participants have a clear conception that the school has its social role, works with the objective of training students to live and build a promising future in search of a better life, a school that provides opportunities for citizenship training
