Abstract

In the pandemic context, even in the face of the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), on social isolation, there was a record of face-to-face work of bailiff, aggravating the possibilities of contagion. Whether remote or face-to-face, the Judiciary did not provide support or prior training, both for technical issues of new platforms/technologies, as well as for interpersonal and mental health issues to carry out their respective work. The objective of this research was to analyze the changes that occurred in the work of bailiffs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subjective mobilization of these workers in the face of these organizational changes. The results reveal narratives that emphasize both certain advantages and difficulties in adapting to changes in the organization of the work of bailiffs in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic; as well as the description of the experiences of pleasure-suffering. As sources of pleasure and possible benefits cited by the officers surveyed were: the reduction of risks inherent to street work; procedural speed and efficiency of judicial work. As disadvantages and sources of suffering: intensification and acceleration of work; acquisition of instruments to develop the activities remotely and in person with own financial resources, lack of training and support to use technological resources; lack of psychosocial support for the other challenges of the profession. It is concluded that the changes mobilized experiences of pleasure and suffering, and the pandemic context made even more evident historical challenges of the category, such as the lack of: dialogue, decision-making power and technical and psychosocial support.
