FROM EXPERIMENTAL VOID TO THE UPDATING TENDENCY: A YOUNG UNIVERSITY STUDENT’S EXPERIENCE DURING PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN
Abstract
Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic is a health problem which has been the focus of different researchers in the area of psychology, including the branch of existential humanistic psychology, on the grounds that this branch is considered as one of the main topics regarding peoples’ mental health. Particularly, in this qualitative research project is presented a unique case study developed by a semi-structured interview to a young student from the Psychology Major from FES Iztacala so as to make a hermeneutical and phenomenological analysis of the transformational process and the changes she has experienced during these months in the lockdown. A state of incompleteness of being, existential deficit and void was observed, but also a moment of transcendence, achievement and a potential upgrade. This approach invites to the deep research of the human life taking the person as the center as well as the undeniable owner of their own existence.
