Roman Jakobson was categorical in stating that Linguistics should be interested in all forms of language manifestation. In 'Linguistics and Poetics' (1960), he meticulously traces an investigative path on the different functions of language, particularly dedicating himself to the poetic function of language. In this theoretical-analytical work, I turn to the poetic function of language, seeking to understand, from a theoretical point of view, the phenomenon and linguistic concepts mobilized when its effect occurs. I narrate and share impressions from my experience as a young teacher interested in the phenomenon of the poetic function and the effects of what can creatively and surprisingly emerge from the interplay between sound and meaning.
