POLÍTICAS DE EXPANSÃO DA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR NO BRASIL NOS ÚLTIMOS 30 ANOS
Abstract
The study aimed to describe public policies for the expansion of higher education in Brazil in the last 30 years. In search of the answer to the proposed objective, bibliographic and documentary research and analysis were carried out. This is an explanatory and descriptive study with a quantitative-qualitative approach. This article is subdivided into three sections: Policies for expanding higher education from the 1990s; the centenary of the Federal University of Amazonas; and the 28 years of interiorization of the Federal University of Amazonas in the municipality of Itacoatiara. The results obtained show that as a result of the public policies adopted, the growth of private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) has been overwhelming public HEIs, reflecting the political ideologies of the period.
