Abstract

AMAZONIAN FESTIVALS AND UNIVERSITY: EXPERIENCES IN EXTENSION PROJECT

Abstract: It is well known that Amazonian festivals are part of the culture of a people and the traces of this are reflected in the educational environment. This study aims to report the influence of Amazonian festivals in the construction of the artistic spectacle in a dance, circus and gymnastics program, Prodagin. Prodagin is an institutionalized extension program at the Federal University of Amazonas - UFAM and annually holds an exhibition, the Prodagin exhibition, which brings together all classes that develop dance, circus arts and gymnastics activities. In 2019, the program held its V Mostra with the title of the second show Amazônia: a song of hope. Packed with songs from the Parintins festivals, the show was intended to send a positive message about the preservation of nature, allowing people to reflect on man's attitudes towards deforestation.
