Abstract

The research focused on analyzing The Importance of Ethics in Political Action, which consists of moderation with a view to the common good. The methodology used is bibliographic, and the hermeneutic technique of interpretation and critical analysis of texts was used. The research concluded that coexistence between individuals in the community is necessary because it aims at the individual and collective good of the community. It is with a view to this good that the complementarity between politics and ethics consists. The relevance of the theme is limited to strengthening citizenship, ensuring fair and moderate action by all. In this sense, ethics is fundamental in political action because it concerns the collective good of people and not the private privilege of some. Ethics ensures that political principles (of equality, justice and human rights) are respected. Failure to respect them opens the possibility of corruption, while respecting them ensures the well-being of society. The theme is interdisciplinary because politics and ethics are not isolated areas. The concerns and decisions of politics and ethics are complex, which is why different areas of knowledge ensure moderate political action in view of the good of all.
