Abstract

This communication aims to talk about Higher Education and Gender in Mozambique, sociocultural challenges and perspectives in the face of certain paradigms, imposed on women, in the historical process marked by periods of exclusion and inclusion in Education, in decision-making, management, leadership and knowledge production spaces. Since the history of 60 years of Higher Education in Mozambique shapes our own professional and social trajectory, methodologically, the work will be based on bibliographic research and professional life experience as a woman, mother, and lecturer that has been following the metamorphoses that Higher Education has gone through, especially about gender. We hope that this communication will be an incentive to break sociocultural paradigms that predestinate women essentially for domestic management, opening horizons that place and envision women as protagonists in decision-making, science, technology and higher education management spaces.
