Abstract

This social research, of a qualitative nature, of a documentary type, investigated two public schools (municipal and state) in the city of Capelinha-MG, with the attempt to understand a brief reality about the implementation of anti-racist Federal Laws, Law no. 10,639/03 and Law no. 11.645/08, in public Basic Education teaching networks in a municipality in the Alto Jequitinhonha region. The following documents were analyzed: CBC (Common Core Curriculum of the State of Minas Gerais), Municipal Regulations, PPP (Pedagogical Political Project) and Teaching Plans. We sought to find out whether in these documents, in their texts, there are mentions and indications of strategies for implementing Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations. The literature review also sought to provide a brief history of the black population, their struggle, resistance and contribution to the construction of Brazilian society. We understand that this research is relevant due to the importance of knowing what strategies are adopted in Basic Education in public education networks in the city of Capelinha-MG, in an attempt to promote education for Ethnic-Racial relations, which seeks to overcome racism , and insert content from Afro-Brazilian and indigenous culture as a reference for anti-racist education, with the perspective of contributing to the transformation towards a more critical, autonomous and equitable society.
