Abstract

This review article aims to analyze the training contexts of military firefighters in relation to the health risks to living, free, and sovereign human beings who choose, or are led in good faith to choose, to join a military institution and collaborate with society in the role of military firefighter. Upon entering, they are surprised by a violent, authoritarian structure and a pedagogy of suffering, humiliation, and punishment that gradually undermines their mental, physical, psychological, and emotional health. This constitutes a violation of human rights and an immense contradiction, since these are institutions that preach an image of honor and respect for the public that supports them, yet within their walls and camps they allow and promote actions that violate fundamental human rights and guarantees, impacting inalienable individual assets such as the health and well-being of enlisted personnel and their relatives. Further studies and research in this area may provide new analyses on the subject, serving as a reference for leaders and professionals responsible for developing new training policies that strengthen and respect the dignity of employees, their human rights, and those of their relatives.
