Abstract

This paper describes the activities of professional practice whose outcome was an on-line English course using multimedia resources aimed at students of an elementary school in Merida, Yucatan, México. In this project, a diagnostic was done and the need of an English course was detected. Considering this information and the situation of COVID-19 in the second half of 2020, it was decided to implement the course using multimedia resources through a popular on-line platform. The course was designed following the principles of the ADDIE model and all students of the school were invited to participate. At the end of the course, the students showed a decent understanding of the contents of the course and a motivation to continue their English studies, both from the parents and the students. The purpose of this paper is to describe in detail the necessary steps to complete this course and, besides, provide reflections and analysis about the acquired experiences and what was learned from this endeavor.
