DIFICULDADES E BENEFÍCIOS PARA A PRODUÇÃO DO ALGODOEIRO (Gossypium hirsutum L.) NO NORTE DO BRASIL

Abstract

The present work is a review article, which aimed to investigate what are the factors that impact the production of cotton culture in the northern region and seek benefits so that the production of the culture in the region can be increased. The northern region is identified as one of the least productive of cotton in the country, making it necessary to understand the difficulties encountered and the search for benefits that can increase cultivation in the region. The methodology applied in this research is of a qualitative nature, aiming at the interpretation of the content and the computerization to the reader. A total of 70 academic works were analyzed, of which 58 were characterized as those that met the inclusion criteria. Cotton is considered little explored in the northern region of Brazil, where more incentives are needed for the production of the crop in the states represented by the region.
